iPAC-8x47 Series (iP-8447/8847) is a Dual Ethernet ISaGRAF SoftLogic PAC (Programmable Automation Controller) of ICP DAS iPAC-8000 series. It equips an 80186, 80 MHz CPU running a MiniOS7 operating system, various connectivity (Dual 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet Ports, one RS-232/485 port, one RS-485 port and two RS-232 ports) and 4/8 slots for high performance Parallel I/O modules (High profile I-8K series) and high performance Serial-type I/O modules (Hot-Swap high profile I-87K I/O high profile I-87K serial I/O modules. Compared with I-8xx7, iPAC-8x47 series is 2 ~ 4 times faster!
ZigBee Wireless Solution
ISaGRAF PAC plus ZB-2550P and ZB-2551P (ZigBee to RS-232/485 Converters) can apply wireless communication, reduce the wiring cost, and achieve the mission of remote I/O control and data acquisition.
GPS Applications:
ISaGRAF PAC plus I-87211W or GPS-721 WP-8xx7, VP-2xW7, iP-8xx7, μPAC-7186(P)EG can support one I-87211W (slot 0~7) or I-87211W / GPS-721 as RS-485 remote GPS I/O.
For doing auto-time-sychronization and getting local Longitude and Latitude.
Stress Monitoring
Application of Constructions ICP DAS releases effective VW sensor solution (Vibration Wire solution).
It's useful for measuring the stress of constructions like building, bridge, dam, etc...
This solution has been successfully applied in some water dams monitoring system near the city Wuhan in China.
Integrate with CAN/CANopen
Devices and Sensors iP-8x47 Supports max. 3 I-7530 (RS-232 to CAN) Converters
Send Email with One Attached File
Data Acquisition
Auto-Report System VC++ 6.0, VB 6.0 and ISaGRAF demo programs are available.
iP-8x47 can use UDP/IP Client protocol to auto-report acquisition data & control data to local or to remote internet PC/Server.
Advantage: Each iP-8x47 in the different location doesn’t need a fixed Internet IP.
Local/Remote
I/O Expansion & Multi-HMI iP-8447/8847 only supports I-8K, I-87K High Profile I/O modules plugged on (local) slot.
Users can choose RS-485 Remote I/O modules (I-7000 series) or expansion units (RU-87Pn or I-87Kn) plugged with high profile I-87K serial I/O modules.
Each iP-8447/8847 has a fixed Ethernet port No. of 502.
With Modbus TCP/IP protocol, up to 6 PCs can link to one iP-8447/8847.
With Modbus RTU Slave protocol, another PC or MMI can link to the COM1 (RS-232) or one of COM2 (RS-485), COM3 (RS-232/485) port of the iP-8447/8847.
Therefore, the maximum number of clients that can be linked is 8.
Detect Hot-Swap I-87K (High Profile) I/O Status
In ISaGRAF Workbench, you must connect the I/O board to the "I/O connection" windows correctly and select the "io_state" board then you can observe the I/O status. When you Hot-Swap the I-87K (High Profile) I/O, the message will show on the front panel of iP-8x47.
FRnet I/O
Fast I/O scan: About 3 ms per FRnet scan. (This depends on your ISaGRAF PLC program's scan time, if the ISaGRAF PLC scan time is 9ms, then the scan time for all will be 8 ms, instead of 3 ms.)
iP-8447/8847 supports max. 4 pcs. of I-8172W ( Max. channel 1024 DI and 1024 DO)
Ethernet Redundancy for HMI/PC/SCADA
If one Ethernet cable is broken or damaged, the other one will still handle the Ethernet data exchange for HMI/PC/SCADA.
Can use COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4 or (COM5, if plugged one I-8112iW/14W/14iW/42iW/44iW RS-232/485 expansion board)
Can link to Modbus PLC or M-7000 I/O or Modbus devices (Power meter, temperature controller, inverter…)
SMS: Short Message Service
The ISaGRAF PACs can integrate with a GSM Modem to support SMS: Short Message Service. This allows user to request information or perform control tasks for the ISaGRAF PAC via his personal cellular phone. In addition, the PAC can also send information and alarms to user's cellular phone.
The short message can be sent in local language format (like Chinese, English, ...... others).
Motion Control
One I-8091W can control 2-axis: X-Y plane, or 2 independent axes.
Two I-8091W can control 4-axis: X-Y plane + 2 independent axes or 4 independent axes.
Data Exchange:
Fbus & Ebus Fbus ( RS-485 Network )
Each iP-8447/8847 can use its other RS-485 port (COM3) to talk to each other via the Fbus communication mechanism. Fbus can be used to broadcast data to each controller or each controller can request to send or receive data from any other controller on the same Fbus network.
Ebus ( Ethernet Network)
Each iP-8447/8847 can use its Ethernet port (LAN2) to talk to each other via the Ebus communication mechanism. When PC is talking with controllers via Ethernet, the controllers can also talk to each other via the same Ethernet; It makes the configuration more flexible and faster.
Data Log
Data, date & time can be stored in Dual Battery Backup SRAM, and then PC can load these data via RS-232 or Ethernet.
