Getting access to factory information in real-time from anywhere is a strategic necessity which every manufacturing company knows only too well. This is why Progea has developed the Movicon X Web Client©, the innovative software solution based on the most modern Thin Client Java technologies to share real time data through the Internet and Intranet architectures. Thanks to the Movicon® and Movicon Web Client© technology, you can visualize and control each Movicon X supervision station using just a simple browser on the client side, allowing you to drastically cut down costs for management, maintenance and licenses, while at the same time increasing productivity.

Thin Client, Firewall Friendly

Movicon Web Client© uses the Thin Client model, thanks to which the entire application resides and is processed on the server. This allows all information to be centralized, making system management and maintenance easier and cost effective. The Client displays the screens processed on the server. Information is updated to the Client on event only, at each change, using event-driven philosophy. The most advanced technology (Java, XML, Web Services) and the exception-based architecture guarantee high performances in real innovative architecture. Thanks to the SOAP technology and Web Services, access by Clients to your plant does not require any modification or "opening" of firewalls, guaranteeing access to data in complete safety.

Multi-platform

Movicon Web Client© is based on Java (J2SE and J2ME) technology. Thanks to this feature, the Movicon Web Client can be run on any browser, on any platform being used. Plant data can be accessed, for example, not only by using a Microsoft platform, but also from Linux, Unix stations, from Palmtop or from any other "Java-Enabled" platform. Web Client can also be run on Windows CE. Due to the Java engine unrealiability in WinCE, Progea has developed a special Client component, to ensure Server access from WinCE stations as well. All this means total multiplatform support.

Your plant in your pocket

Movicon Web Client is also available in Midlet (J2ME) version to allow server access using any mobile phone supporting Java (JavaPhones). With the J2ME midlet, your mobile can work as a client to get you access to your plant’s screens. With worldwide exclusivity, the Progea technology of today permits access to the plant server without you physically sitting in front of a PC. By using an access menu, the user (with a preset access level) can display and interact with the screens from the server, view and acknowledge alarms, monitor variable states, view historicals and Data Loggers.
